Saturday 19 September Dunedin Symphony Orchestra
The DSO is celebrating 60 years of existence (Bravo! - no easy feat) with a gala concert in the Dunedin Town Hall. The conductor is James Judd, the fabulous Jonathan Lemalu will sing Mozart arias and I’ll play the Shostakovich Second Piano Concerto, the one with the miracle slow movement. Start time is 7.30pm. Wednesday 23 September House concert in Alexandra
This is a public concert in the home of my friends Lloyd Williams and Cally McWha. I’ll be playing Bach, Beethoven, Debussy and Gershwin. To get tickets phone Cally on 021 458 870. Numbers are limited. Start time is 7pm, address is 169 Airport Road, Alexandra.
Sunday 25 October Tauranga Arts Festival
I’ll be presenting ‘Paris in the Rain’, a melding of beautiful piano music mainly by French composers (Debussy, Ravel, Satie) with an atmospheric ambient audio component designed by my friends John Psathas and Jack Hooker, activated as I play. Gentle, meditative, a spiritual balm. The concert will last an hour and we will do it twice, at 2.30pm and 5pm. X-space, Baycourt. All details at taurangafestival.co.nz
Saturday 21 November Manukau Symphony Orchestra
